Woman killed, man critical after gunfire in northern Minneapolis

A woman died on the scene and a man was transported to the North Memorial Medical Center Monday night, where he is in critical condition.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, numerous 911 calls reported a shooting at 700 block on West Broadway Avenue in north Minneapolis at 6:28 p.m.

The officers arrived at the scene and found a woman who was believed to be around 30 years old at the scene. While the police were on their way to the scene, they were told that the man who had been shot was being loaded into a vehicle and was on his way to a hospital.

Police told surrounding hospitals that a victim of the shooting was due to arrive shortly and the man was taken to the North Memorial. The police informed the police that the man was in critical condition.

“Preliminary investigations suggest that a male party shot the two victims and fled the area on foot before the officers arrived,” says MPD. “Homicide investigators are on site trying to find out what led to the shooting.”

No arrests were made. Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
