The year was 2020 and it was during the Covid19 pandemic that I had an epiphany.

I realised that there was a whole new generation of people who needed to know about me and my revolutionary approach to online marketing.

But what made this project truly special was that I decided to include interviews with other successful entrepreneurs who shared their stories and offered tips and advice on how they grew their businesses.

I knew that by including these extraordinary guests I could share their stories and give viewers a glimpse of what it's like to live a life of freedom and financial independence.

But what I didn't realise at first was just how hard it would be to capture their attention and hold it throughout the entire interview.

I mean, after all, we've all seen hundreds of thousands of videos on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.

We're inundated with content 24/7. So how did I manage to grab their attention and keep it?

Well, I'm glad you asked because I'll tell you exactly how I pulled off this amazing feat.

First of all, I created a compelling storyline that told the audience about my journey and how I came to create my company.

Then I used a few key storytelling techniques to engage and motivate audiences to listen to me.

For example, I began each interview with a question to draw them in, followed up with a personal anecdote to connect with them and finally closed the conversation with a call to action.

These three simple steps helped me gain the trust of my guests and listeners.

Once I'd established a connection, I then used some clever editing techniques to ensure that I captured the essence of what they said without sounding scripted.

Finally, I added some humour and personality to the mix to bring the conversations to life.

Now, I don't claim that this method works for everyone.

Let's talk about the first step - the script.

When writing a script for a video, you should always begin by asking yourself two questions:

Who is your target audience?

And what message do you want to convey?

The answer to both of these questions will determine whether or not your video will resonate with your audience.

Think about it. If you were trying to sell someone a product or service, wouldn't you want to know exactly what they wanted?

Wouldn't you want to understand their needs and desires?

Of course you would.

Likewise, if you were trying to communicate a specific message to your audience, wouldn't you want them to walk away understanding exactly what you wanted them to hear?

Again, yes, you would.

So, if you want to write a script that engages your audience, you need to ask yourself these two important questions.

Next, you need to decide who your audience is.

To do this, you simply need to break down your target market into smaller groups based on age, gender, interests, location, income level, occupation, etc.

Once you know who your ideal customer is, you can focus your efforts on communicating directly to them.

Remember, you want to speak to your audience in a language that they understand.

So, if your audience consists of men aged between 25 and 40, then you might consider writing a script that addresses those exact demographics.

Or if your audience is women aged 35 to 50, then you might choose to address them directly.

Regardless of who your audience is, the goal is to identify what type of information they care about.

After all, if you're talking to your grandmother, you probably shouldn't be discussing politics.

Instead, you should focus on topics that she cares about.

For example, if your grandmother loves gardening, then you might use her love for flowers to build rapport and establish trust.

Next, you want to figure out what message you want to convey.

This is usually pretty easy.

Simply put, you want to find a topic that relates to your audience.

For example, let's say that you're producing a video aimed at millennials.

So, you might want to talk about topics related to travel, music, fashion, food, sports, entertainment, etc.

Whatever the subject matter, make sure that you're addressing the right issues.

If you're talking about a topic that doesn't interest your audience, then you risk losing them.

So, when choosing a topic, try to avoid controversial subjects such as religion, politics or anything else that may cause conflict.

Also, make sure that you aren't targeting any demographic group that isn't interested in your product or service.

Lastly, remember that every person has unique preferences.

So, while you might assume that everyone likes the same thing, that's rarely true.
